I am now pleased to inform you that I have started a more modest publication project, which will produce several issues each year of the Workers’ Compensation Resources Research Report (WCRRR). Each issue of the WCRRR will focus on a single topic and present data not readily available elsewhere that will be valuable for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers interested in workers’ compensation. Issue One of the WCRRR, published in September 2010, presented an article entitled “Workers’ Compensation Insurance Industry Remains Profitable in 2009.” The article relied on A. M. Best data that indicated the workers’ compensation insurance industry’s profitability declined in 2009, but nonetheless the industry remained profitable for the seventh year in a row. Issue Two of the WCRRR, just published, examines the employers’ costs of workers’ compensation based on the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
